Having the title of ‘grandparent’ brings some great opportunities to the last half of one’s life. Among other things, it allows one to play a key role in writing the history of a generation you will someday leave behind to carry on. But…it also brings some huge challenges.
As grandparents, it is not unusual to have unrealistic expectations colliding with blocked expectations from others. Mix into this one’s busy personal life, some other grandparents with different agendas, in-law adult kids you struggle to connect with, and grandkids with minds of their own—suddenly grandparenthood can morph into a haven for a lot of disappointment, hurt feelings, and deep heartache.
The good news is that the God who came up with the idea of grandparenthood also provides the ways and means to navigate the built-in challenges. In this study group, you will learn what they are and how to utilize them to raise the odds of your efforts bringing the best out of everyone in that greater family picture.
