At Bay Life, we follow the qualifications found in Titus 1:6-9 and 1 Timothy 3:1-7 for the role of Elder in our church.

  • Above reproach,
  • Able to teach
  • Husband of one wife
  • Manage his own household well
  • Not be arrogant
  • Not quick-tempered
  • Not a drunkard or
  • Not violent but but gentle,
  • Not quarrelsome, but hospitable,
  • Not a lover of money or greedy
  • Respectable - a lover of good,
  • Self-controlled and upright,
  • Holy, and disciplined.
  • Not be a recent convert

Every year, Bay Life Church members meet to reaffirm our elders for another year. At the end of services on January 14, 2024, we’ll hold a short business meeting to reaffirm each elder for 2024.


Current Elders

Mark Saunders is the Pastor of Bay Life Church and has served as an elder since 2004. He and his wife, Eleanor, have three adult children, Ben, Cooper, and Kye. His prayer is for all at Bay Life to follow Jesus as they help others follow Him too.

Tom Eichem is the Executive Pastor of Bay Life Church and has served as an elder since July 2005. He and his wife Nichole have three children, Teagan (married to Griffin), Camden, and Rylan. Tom loves connecting people to the mission God has for them and watching them use  their God-given gifts to make disciples.

Don Zucarelli has been a member of Bay Life Church since the beginning and has served on the Finance Committee for over two decades. An elder since 2005, Don also serves on our Welcome Team, Prayer Team, and is a Life Group leader. He and his wife, Patty, have three children and seven granddaughters.

Rich Bolick and his wife, Marcia, helped found Bay Life Church. They have served faithfully in our Family and Life Group ministries. Rich has been an elder since 2005, an active discipler, and a retired teacher now working as a para-professional in a public school Pre-K classroom. He and his wife have three daughters.

Walter Radd has been a member of Bay Life Church since 1996. He and his wife, Maggie, have two daughters, Rebecca, married to Zach, and Michelle. They have one granddaughter and one grandson. Walt is the owner of a local custom home building company. He also serves as a Life Group leader.

Rob Ledford has been a member of Bay Life Church since 2007. He and his wife, Shannon, have two children, Tucker and Darby. Rob serves in our Children’s Ministry, on the Security Team, and is a Life Group leader. He’s the managing partner in a commercial architectural firm in Tampa.

Titus Pea and his wife, Renee, have been members of Bay Life Church since September 2004. They have three children, Jaziree, Samuel, and Justus. Titus serves as an usher and in Family Ministries as a small group leader. He is retired from the US Air Force, and is currently the vice president of a local project management agency.

Jerry Greaves and his wife, Kim, started attending Bay Life Church in 2002 and have been members since 2006. They have two children, Emily and Nate. Jerry has been serving in our Student Ministries for nearly 20 years. He works as an accountant at a local fertilizer manufacturer.

Clay Evers and his wife, Sharon, have been members of Bay Life Church since January 2013. They have two children, Daniel and Carly, and two grandchildren. Clay is a Life Group leader and teaches our membership class. Clay retired from the Marine Corps in 2004 and is now an IT project manager.

Jerry Carpenter his wife, Jorgeanne, started attending Bay Life Church in 2011 and have been members since 2012. They have two children, Jonah and Nate. Jerry has been serving in several different ministries since his time here at Bay Life. He is the Vice President of Acentria Insurance located in Lakeland.

Mark Nixon and his wife, Kathy, have been members of Bay Life since 2005. They have two children and one grandchild. Mark and Kathy lead a life group and firmly believe that life groups are the heart of the church. Mark is retired from the Marine Corps and IBM.


Jason and his wife Staci have been a part of Bay Life since 2015. They have been married for 16 years and have two children, Piper and Hawkins. They serve regularly in Bay Life Kids. Jason serves as the National Director for a non-profit program that helps dads and father figures build stronger relationships with their children at local schools all over the nation.
